Little Orphan Annie was a comic strip by Harold Gray and made into a Broadway musical in 1977 which ran for 6 years. Then in 1982 a movie was released based on the play. Carol Burnett played Miss Hannigan and Aileen Quinn played Annie. Because of its popularity, a line of costume jewelry and dolls were marketed by Applause. The play is still touring across the US.
